Teaching Fellows Committees
- Social: The Social Committee is in charge of planning social activities for the Teaching Fellows Program (i.e. Family Weekend, Halloween Carnival, Homecoming and any social get-togethers). The committee must plan at least 2 events each semester in order give all Teaching Fellows the option of choosing which events to attend.
- Campus/Community Outreach: The Outreach Committee is designed to set up volunteering opportunities on campus and throughout the community. It helps to establish a relationship between the UNCW Teaching Fellows and the surrounding schools and local communities. - Video/Publicity: The Video/Publicity Committee will organize “Scrapbook Sundays” as well as create a video that will inform others about our Teaching Fellows Program. The video should display seminars, interviews, and other activities our program participates in. The committee will be required to capture footage of various Teaching Fellows events in order to promote our program to the public.
- Recruitment: The Recruitment committee has an extremely important job through-out the year. In the fall semester, they collect campus information used for packets sent to prospective students. They also visit schools during Fall Break and distribute packets to school representatives prior to the application deadline in October. During spring semester, the recruitment committee works closely with the Open House chairs. The Recruitment Committee is also responsible for attending the recruitment fairs sponsored by the university. The committee sponsors the Teaching Fellows Future Teacher Open House in the spring for New Hanover County, Brunswick County, and Pender County underclassmen interested in becoming teachers.
- Fundraising Committee: The Fundraising Committee will organize and facilitate at least one fundraising event each semester. In the spring, the reps will organize the Teaching Fellows Relay for Life participation.
