The Global Perspectives Initiative is a program designed to enhance the students' world view through education, service, leadership and cultural understanding. This dynamic learning experience will provide our students of today with the knowledge and opportunities to become community leaders and engaged citizens.

Curriculum Details:
First-year learning community (required)
Fall semester courses: (9 credit hours)
- All students will be in enrolled together in COM 104: Concepts of Communication Studies
- In smaller groups, students will enroll in UNI 101: Freshman Seminar plus one of the following courses:
- HST 104: Global History
- SOC 105: Intro to Sociology
Spring semsester course:
- Students will continue the learning community by all being enrolled in a common course that will focus on Leadership and Service Learning.
Second-year (optional)
Participants will have the opportunity to earn the Cultural Competencies Certificant by attending and participating in various campus and community events.
