A Camp for Young Writers Summer 2008: June 17-21
The Young Writers' Workshop
is an annual five-day conference that brings together up to 35 high school students from all over the state and region to study the craft of writing. The 2008 Workshop
The YWW Experience: Workshop attendees stay in on-campus housing with full-time creative writing graduate student counselors who are available at all times for unstructured interaction, assistance with writing projects, and moral support. Participants spend approximately six hours every day in writing exercises, peer workshops, field trips, and craft presentations. Participants gain experience through nightly readings of their own work. Students also have time to explore our beautiful campus, visit the bookstore and library, and get to know other young writers. The Young Writers' Workshop is a place for aspiring writers to experiment, meet other writers, and follow their creative interests in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. If you'd like our brochure, more information or want to register for the Young Writers' Workshop, please send your mailing address to youngwriterscamp@uncw.edu.
