Camps for Children & Programs for Adults

Adult Camps and Programs

Ever feel that your kids get to have all the fun? Then join us for Odyssey, sponsored by the Division for Public Service and Continuing Studies. Odyssey offers marine environmental education programs designed specifically for adults aged 19 and up. These lectures and excursions will stimulate your interest in exotic marine environments as well as those in your own neighborhood. But be warned:  education this much fun just might bring out the kid in you!

Youth Camps

Many UNCW divisions and departments offer specialized camps and programs designed for children and teens.

Students, aged 12 to 15, will meet with professionals four times a week for five hours to learn how to start and manage a business in a fun environment through the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP). YEP engages students in an on-going series of interactive and experiential activities geared toward business.

Phase one consists of introductory entrepreneurial training based on progressive business curriculum. Phase two includes a comprehensive training curriculum, guidance in business implementation, and participation in the business simulation competition. Sponsored by the Cameron School of Business, Partners for Economic Inclusion (PEI), the Upperman African American Cultural Center (UAACC) and Mr. Wendell Daniels, a local business owner.

For more information, call (910) 962-7391 or ( 910) 962-3777 or visit this site: Youth Entrepreneurship Program.

In addition to lectures and laboratory experiences, sessions offer participants the chance to learn about marine life through salt marsh explorations, trips on the Research Vessel Cape Fear; and educational beachcombing trips. The program offers MarineQuest adventures for K-12 students, including homeschooled students, scout groups, and class field trips, as well as birthday parties.
